PILS has existed for the past 18 years, and positioned itself as the main national NGO advocating for the rights of people living with HIV since.
In 2014, PILS did its strategic plan following the need to think how to best position the NGO as a response to the evolution of the epidemic.
In this plan, out of the four strategies developed was to 'Reduce HIV, STI and Hepatitis Vulnerabilities by Strengthening and Facilitating Access to gender-sensitive Integrated Healthcare Services'.
-Community sensitisation on HCV
-Provide free HCV rapid tests
-Advocacy with policy-makers for registration of treatment
-Advocacy for a national Hepatitis plan
-Set up and run SidaInfo, a free, confidential and anonymous hotline on HIV, STIs, Drugs and Hepatitis
-Commemorate world hepatitis day
