Our organisation has several programs working with people living with Blood Born Viruses in the Northern Territory.
As well as supporting people living with BBV we also concentrate on Harm Minimization through education and access to cheap resources.
NTAHC is the key Non-Government organisation working in the area of blood borne viruses, education and support in the Northern Territory. NTAHC operates on a holistic approach in accordance with the objects of the Ottawa Charter (1986), and guided by key National and Northern Territory policies and legislation.
The programs delivered by the organisation include:
• Care & Support
• Sex Worker Outreach Program
• Needle and Syringe Program
• Aboriginal Sexual Health
Services and activities include:
Care and Support services to people living with blood borne viruses and people at risk, providing support, counselling and referring clients onto other services as required.
Health promotion through the development of targeted health promotion materials, campaigns and resources as well as provision of information at health expo’s, schools and to the broader community at community events and festivals.
Education sessions delivered to community based organisations / prisons / detention centres / general community / businesses and health professionals to raise awareness and reduce Blood borne virus transmissions.
Peer Support Groups for people living with blood borne viruses.
The provision of free safe sex products.
