About Global Liver Institute

VISION

For liver health to take its place on the global public health agenda commensurate with its prevalence and impact.

MISSION

To improve the effectiveness of the liver community by promoting innovation, collaboriation, and scaling optimal approaches to eradicating liver disease.

The Global Liver Institute (GLI) serves the liver community by:
1. Increasing the voice for liver issues in the global public health conversation
2. Facilitating collaborative approaches and knowledge–sharing among patient advocates, policymakers, regulators, public health officials, clinicians and researchers in liver disease and therapeutic areas related to liver disease (e.g. HIV, IBD, cancer)
3. Attracting and highlighting innovation, particularly digital/technical innovation, to challenges faced by liver patients

OUR VALUES

Patient-Centric

We empower individuals with liver disease, and those who care for them, to be full partners in defeating liver disease.

Collaborative
We believe that more can be accomplished by working together. We actively seek partnerships with other organizations in liver disease, HIV, oncology, diabetes, obesity, and other relevant stakeholders previously not engaged with the community.

Inclusive
We include diverse populations, geographies, racial/ethnic groups, socio-economic status, and all forms of liver disease in our approach to governance, programming, and communications.

Bold
We work to proactively identify, collect, share, and aggressively promote best practices to scale, as well as attract and accelerate innovation.
