I. Patient Forum
"By the patient for the patient" is the motto behind this Forum. Established under the auspices of Forum for The Study of The Liver, this Forum is one of it's kind and with an unique composition consisting of hepatitis B and C patients and Hepatologists and headed by a Director of the Forum. Agenda of the Forum include facilitating and supporting access to treatment, speaking on a patient's behalf in order to further their treatment progress or to protect their rights and help them learn how to obtain information and services. Members of the Forum are entitled to discounted services offered by the Forum for the Study of The Liver at a priority basis.
II. Liver Care & Research Centre
Liver Care & Research Centre is the flagship project of Forum for The Study of The Liver founded with the motto "Liver Care – We Deliver". It has been established at a prime location in Dhanmondi area of Dhaka city partnering with Farabi General Hospital. The Centre is a fully equipped tertiary level Hepatology service centre having 30 inpatient beds including general wards and cabins. There is a 4 bed HDU to cater liver failure patients. The Centre is furnished with an endoscopy suite, pathology laboratory and ultrasonography services. OPD consultations are provided to liver disease patients every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday from 3 pm to 5 pm and on Fridays from 10 am to 12 pm. Patients attending Liver Care & Research Centre receive discounted services.
III. Liver Cancer Centre
Liver Cancer Centre is the most advanced centre in the country offering full spectrum of management of hepatocellular carcinoma including chemotherapy, local ablations, namely percutaneous ethanol injection (PEI) and radio frequency ablation (RFA) and transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) – the most advanced modality for liver cancer management. Liver Cancer Centre is the only centre in the country at the moment where TACE is being offered. Management of HCC at Liver Care Centre is offered by a group of Hepato-Oncologists trained in India and Japan. The centre is soon going to introduce dendritic cell based immuno-therapy for the first time in the country.
IV. Vaccination
Vaccination against hepatitis B is provided at a subsidized rate to anyone interested every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday from 3 pm to 5 pm and on Fridays from 10 am to 12 pm. This is in line with our commitment to eradicate hepatitis B by 2030.
V. Access to Treatment
Patient suffering from hepatitis B and C related diseases attending Liver Care & Research Centre receives special discount on antivirals, as part of our pledge to ensure access of treatment to the under privileged.
VI. Promotion of Diagnosis
Diagnosing new cases of hepatitis B and C remains the key to eradication of hepatitis B and C viruses by 2030. In order to facilitate these goal Forum for The Study of The Liver conducts screening programmes in partnership with voluntary organizations. The Forum also runs an outreach centre in Mymensingh to achieve this goal.

Forum for The Study of The Liver is a co-sponsor of Euroasian Journal of Hepato-gastroenterology with Euroasian Gastroenterological Association. The journal is approved by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council and has bibliographic listings with IndexCopernicus, Google Scholar, ProQuest, Open J Get, HINARY, EBSCO, Genamics JournalSeek, Ulrich, SIS, OAJI and CiteFactor. Indexing with PubMed is now pending approval of the PubMed authority.
